August 15, 2025 – Lisconn is proud to announce a major advancement in its manufacturing operations with the introduction of Autonomous Production Units (APUs) at both the Lisconn India IN1 site and our Penang facilities.

This strategic initiative marks a bold step in optimizing production efficiency, improving responsiveness, and empowering manufacturing teams to deliver with greater speed, precision, and quality.

Focused on Key Products

The newly launched APUs will be responsible for producing high-quality cable assemblies, power cords, and related cable products for a diverse range of customers and industries. By giving each APU complete ownership of its operations, Lisconn aims to strengthen product quality, improve delivery performance, and accelerate responsiveness to customer needs.

Driving Accountability and Performance

Each APU operates as a self-contained, fully accountable production unit, with direct responsibility for:

  • Production Output – Consistently delivering high-quality results
  • Quality Assurance – Upholding Lisconn’s rigorous standards
  • On-Time Delivery – Meeting commitments with precision
  • Workplace Safety – Ensuring a safe, compliant environment
  • Continuous Improvement – Pursuing innovation and efficiency at every stage

How the Model Works

At the IN1 site, each APU is supported by a dedicated core team covering:

  • Production
  • Quality Assurance
  • Manufacturing Engineering (ME)
  • Material Handling
  • Lean/Cost Reduction

While APUs run independently in their daily operations, they are backed by shared operational resources such as Quality Systems, Production Material & Control, Warehouse & Logistics, and Technical Engineering. They also receive centralized support from Finance, Human Resources, and IT — combining local autonomy with global expertise.

A Cultural and Operational Shift

Lisconn’s APU model is more than an operational framework, it’s a cultural transformation. By giving teams greater ownership and decision-making authority, Lisconn is creating an environment that fosters accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

“The APU model is more than just an operational change, it’s a cultural transformation. By empowering our teams with greater ownership and decision-making authority, we can achieve better results, respond to challenges faster, and build a more engaged, motivated workforce,” said Kent Yiu, Site GM (DGM) for Lisconn India IN1. “With Penang and IN1 leading the way, we are laying the foundation for a global shift in how Lisconn manufactures, innovates, and delivers for our customers.”
